Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possesses specific knowledge of all areas of endocrinology. Demonstrates ability to detect and diagnose thyroid conditions, hormonal causes for infertility, diabetes, tumors, and other gland-related diseases. Exhibits professional but friendly bedside manner. Is capable of conducting independent research outside of hospital and/or private office hours. Possesses physical and mental stamina required for working long hours. Pays close attention to detail. Can remain patient and calm in high-stress hospital settings. Exhibits excellent analytical skills. Works well with a team of other physicians and nurses. Demonstrates strong leadership skills. Communicates clearly and effectively. Is able to explain medical conditions to patients in clear and straightforward terms without medical jargon.
